Richard R. Ramlall
Board Member
Ramlall became a member of the Board of Directors in March 2008. Ramlall is a member of the Compensation Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Chief Communications Officer of Primus Telecommunications Group, Incorporated. Primus is a leading provider of advanced communication solutions, including broadband Internet, traditional and IP voice, data, mobile services, collocation, hosting, and outsourced managed services to business and residential customers in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Brazil.
He has held a variety of positions, including Senior Vice President, Strategic External Affairs and Programming, at RCN Corporation, a leading broadband provider of video, data, and voice services to residential, business and commercial/carrier customers; Senior Managing Director and Executive Vice President of Spencer Trask Media and Communications Group, LLC, Vice President and Managing Director for Strategy, Marketing and International Government Affairs for Bechtel Telecommunications and as Executive Director for International Business Affairs for Verizon. Ramlall currently serves on the Alzheimer's Association - National Capital Area Board of Directors. Ramlall recently won a 2010 Stevie® Award as Marketing Executive of the Year in the Seventh Annual International Business Awards. He also won a Stevie® Award from the American Business Awards in recognition of his external communications efforts supporting the promotion of RCN's international and multicultural programming and was recently recognized by CableFax as one of the most influential minorities in cable 2010.
Ramlall holds a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.G.A. (Technology Management) from the University of Maryland.
