- Comcast Selects Evolving Systems' Numbering Solutions For Porting and Number
Inventory Needs
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado - Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-EVOL), a leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market, today announced that Comcast has selected the Companys OrderPath®, and NumeriTrack® products for number portability and number management.
Comcast will implement Evolving Systems local service order activation (LSOA) product, OrderPath, to support its number portability requirements. Additionally, the Companys NumeriTrack product will provide Comcast with a proven solution for the efficient handling of Comcasts number management needs.
It is a priority for Comcast to port our customers numbers to our network reliably while also effectively managing number utilization. We expect that Evolving Systems production-ready software will enable us to do both, while providing the best value for our customers, said Charlotte Field, senior vice president, national communications engineering & operations, Comcast.
We are delighted with Comcasts selection of Evolving Systems for number portability and number management, said Stephen Gartside, president and chief executive officer of Evolving Systems. As cable providers look to enter the Voice market more aggressively they represent a significant growth area for Evolving Systems which provides solutions that include activation, mediation and number management. Comcast, the largest broadband and cable provider in the U.S., represents an important win for us in the growing sector of IP voice and data services.
With this relationship with Comcast, Evolving Systems marks another significant achievement as it continues to lead the number portability market. In 2004, Evolving Systems continued to deploy its number portability solutions at four of the leading carriers in North America and acquired Colorado-based Telecom Software Enterprises (TSE). The acquisition of TSE highlighted Evolving Systems continued investment in the number portability area and provided the Company with a comprehensive set of additional number portability testing and monitoring capabilities, augmenting its own numbering solutions.
