- Evolving Systems Presenting at SIMposium 2009
Chief Technology Officer, Stuart Cochran, examines the inefficiencies associated with pre-provisioning SIM cards and how to overcome them with Evolving Systems' Dynamic SIM Allocation™ solution
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado - Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-EVOL), a leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and cable carrier market, showcases its Dynamic SIM Allocation™ solution during the SIMposium 2009 event in Vienna, Austria.
The conference is an international event focused on emerging business opportunities and the latest trends in the convergence of mobile services. Specific topics include SIM card usage today and how it is likely to develop in the future. Evolving Systems' Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Stuart Cochran, will be discussing the current constraints associated with pre-provisioning of SIM cards and how Evolving Systems' new solution helps carriers overcome those constraints.
"The majority of SIM cards are pre-provisioned in the network, ready for subscribers to start using straight away. Despite the simplicity of this approach, in today's marketplace and economy, operators can no longer tolerate the drawbacks that come with pre-provisioning," commented Mr. Cochran. "With the pre-provisioning model every SIM card has numbers and network database space allocated to it a long time before it can be used. This means that even inactive cards consume space in databases, such as the HLR. It also makes it difficult for operators to effectively manage their SIM card supply chain and prevents end users from personalizing their services easily. Evolving Systems' Dynamic SIM Allocation solution does away with these constraints by activating the SIM card when it is first switched on and used, providing significant cost savings and increasing a carrier's business efficiency."
Mr. Cochran's presentation will take place Tuesday 21st April at 14.40 [Central European Summer Time]. Alternatively, visit Evolving Systems on stand 3.
