- Major US Carrier Selects Evolving Systems' Local Number Portability Solution
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado, December 19, 2005 - Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-EVOL), a leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier markets, today announced that another major US carrier has selected Evolving Systems' Local Number Portability (LNP) solution.
The customer, a major wireline carrier, chose the Order Path SOA and PortExchange™ ICP products. Evolving Systems was selected as having the most cost effective and feature-rich solution of those evaluated in a competitive bid process. The solution is expected to go live in March 2006.
"This latest customer joins a stream of new clients - cable companies, ILECs, large and small wireline and wireless carriers - that have chosen our number portability and other numbering solutions products this year,' stated Stephen Gartside, president and chief executive officer of Evolving Systems. 'We continue to demonstrate that we can our grow market share in number portability and other numbering solutions, both domestically and internationally, against the competition.'
About the OrderPath Product
The OrderPath product is a leading inter-carrier ordering gateway, proven
to support major carriers' data exchange requirements. It isolates and manages
critical data exchanges, enabling other OSS and BSS systems to focus on their
primary functions. It is backed by 20 years of OSS development at Evolving
Systems. The result is a high quality system that provides quick, effective
upgrades and high levels of performance, reliability and availability.
Additionally, OrderPath provides an ENUM module that supports the ENUM registration process for provisioning of end user services (for ITU E.164 complaint numbers). The ENUM protocol enables access to internet-based communications using a single telephone number. This allows Evolving Systems' customers to link multiple communications services to a telephone number, providing a single point of contact for services such as email, instant messaging and Voice over IP (VoIP).
The PortExchange Software supports a carrier's wireless basic and complex port-in and port-out processes.
