- Evolving Systems Enhances Support for Efficient NGN Service Delivery
Latest Tertio Service Activation Software Release Announced
Unique support for service lifecycle in NGN service layers
TELEMANAGEMENT WORLD, NICE Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-EVOL), a leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier markets, has announced the latest release of its Tertio™ activation suite, which enhances support for next generation networks (NGN) service layers.
The communications industry is facing new levels of convergence and competition the convergence of communications and entertainment through triple or quadruple play bundles, and fixed/mobile convergence that ultimately is leading to more personalized, fully integrated services. These changes are driving a revolution in the next generation network service layers, bringing a convergence of telecoms and IT infrastructure through frameworks that include IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem), SDP (Service Delivery Platform), IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) and mobile TV. In almost all cases, these new service layers embrace practical service-oriented architecture technologies, such as Web services.
Evolving Systems' Tertio activation solution provides complete support in NGN service layers for the service lifecycle service modeling, service activation and service integration. The solution allows carriers to activate services automatically and correctly, no matter how complex the service. The Tertio solution also increases operating efficiency, offering graphical tools for service modeling and activation rules configuration that result in a significant reduction in time to market. The Tertio Content Connector module provides support for XML and Web services based integration with no additional development, lowering costs and increasing a service provider's business agility.
The latest Tertio software release builds on the product's market leading strengths in these areas. In particular, the release focuses on integration with next generation service layers, providing enhancements to enable:
Rapid service introduction by automating and simplifying the integration of
SOA-based service layers (IMS, SDP, IPTV and mobile TV)
Easier management of service bundles of increasing complexity and richness
due to triple and quadruple-play and fixed/mobile convergence
Easier service introduction by automatically providing a palette of re-usable
activation tasks
Secure partitions of administrative and transaction data that help carriers
support MVNOs, resellers, wholesalers and content merchants
Paul Hughes, vice president of Yankee Group, commented, "While these new
service architectures pave the way for service providers to differentiate themselves
through enriched convergent services, they still face the challenge of transforming
their business processes and OSS platforms to deliver the services efficiently.
They need to be able to create, activate and integrate services rapidly and
cost effectively to guarantee a great customer experience and operate efficiently."
Stephen Gartside, president and CEO of Evolving Systems, commented, "Evolving Systems has already established a strong lead in the market for NGN OSS. Our Tertio solution is in active use with leading carriers around the world, already supporting next generation services such as high-speed Internet, VoIP, mobile video, music and content, push to talk and personalized ring-back tones. This latest Tertio release demonstrates our strong commitment to keeping in step with our customers' developing needs."
Evolving Systems is exhibiting at Telemanagement World, Nice 15-18 May 2006 (Hall 1, Stand 20).
