- Tier 1 Carrier Expands Use of Evolving Systems' Local Number Portability Solution
Evolving Systems' Numbering Solutions Now Deployed by Three of the Four Largest ILECs
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado - Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-EVOL), a leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier markets, today announced that one of the largest U.S.-based incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs) has upgraded and expanded the use of Evolving Systems' market leading Local Number Portability solution.
The customer will use the Order Path® product to replace an existing competitive solution and reduce operational complexity while at the same time lowering the overall cost of ownership.
"As the demonstrated leader in the industry, Evolving Systems can now boast of having three of the four largest ILECs in the U.S. as well as Comcast, the nation's leading cable provider, standardized on our LNP products," stated Stephen Gartside, president and CEO of Evolving Systems. "With this announcement, Evolving Systems' OrderPath solution will support the number portability services for more than 100 million consumers in the U.S."
The customer will use OrderPath to enhance the usability and efficiency of number portability, reduce its hardware platform footprint and provide seamless integration with other related systems, as well as laying the foundation for expansion into other ordering gateways that may be needed in the future, such as ENUM.
About the OrderPath Product
The OrderPath product is a leading inter-carrier ordering gateway, proven
to support major carriers' data exchange requirements. It isolates and manages
critical data exchanges, enabling other OSS and BSS systems to focus on their
primary functions. It is backed by 20 years of OSS development at Evolving
Systems. The result is a high quality system that provides quick, effective
upgrades and high levels of performance, reliability and availability.
Additionally, OrderPath provides an ENUM module that supports the ENUM registration process for provisioning of end user services (for ITU E.164 complaint numbers). The ENUM protocol enables access to Internet-based communications using a single telephone number. This allows Evolving Systems' customers to link multiple communications services to a telephone number, providing a single point of contact for services such as email, instant messaging and Voice over IP (VoIP).
